Carrot + Kale Smoothie

I’m in the middle of setting up my body for my annual Fall Clean Eating Cleanse detox program, and I’ve been absolutely obsessing over this yummy carrot and kale smoothie!

Not only does carrot and kale taste super delicious together, but I’ve also added ginger in order to help reduce inflammation in my body and get rid of feeling bloated.  I mean that’s the point of a detox right? To get your body moving and grooving just like it should especially right before the holidays.

While I make almost all of my smoothies with just water – every once in a while it’s night to switch things up and use a creamier liquid like coconut milk.  If you want to try this at home, make sure to use real organic coconut milk.  The kind that you usually find in a can. Avoid the kind in milk-style cartons in the refrigerated section since it’s usually high in preservatives and fillers. You can also substitute with any kind of fresh nut milk like almond milk that you make at home, too!

Carrot + Kale Smoothie

Serves 1 – 2

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dairy-free milk like coconut milk or water
  • 3 kale leaves
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 apple
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder (OR 1/2-inch chunk of fresh ginger)
  • 1 tablespoon flax meal (optional)

Method: Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
