Using Essential Oils to Remove a Skin Imperfections Naturally

Did you know that there are about seven different types of common warts? GROSS! While there are many different types of warts, there are actually only a few ways to get rid of them.

You can use a cream, you can have it frozen off or surgically removed. Of course, you can just leave it be and live with the wart. If none of those treatments or options sound appealing to you, then you might be happy to know that in many cases you can get rid of them naturally. I’m not talking about walking around with duct tape on your foot, but hey I’ve been there and tried that!

There are some essential oils that can help. This is how I removed a 10-year-old wart! Trust me – I tried all of the other options, freezing it, cutting it out and many over the counter methods that just didn’t work.

The Top Essential Oils to Try

In general, there are four different oils that have been known to help. These oils include:

  • Oregano
  • Melaleuca
  • Lavender
  • Frankincense

It’s important to keep in mind that we are all genetically different and made up of different body chemistry. That’s why there’s not just one out there that will do the trick for all of us. For me, it was melaleuca. Others, I’ve seen oregano been more helpful.

How to Use Essential Oils to Remove Warts

Direct Application

The first way to try essential oils for this is direct application. Try using melaleuca oil or one of the other four proven oils first. (If you plan on using oregano, make sure to dilute it!) You may have melaleuca oil already, so that is a great place to begin. You’ll want to apply the oil directly to the area. You might consider aligning this with your morning and night routine to make it easy to remember. Use a cotton swab and place a drop of oil directly on the growth.

An Oil Blend

The next method to try is a blended oil, where you might combine a few oils known to help in a roller ball for easy application. Just like before, you’ll use this right on the problem area.

Dilution

This is best used for oregano oil, which can be strong and can irritate sensitive skin because its known as a hot oil. Blend your essential oils into a carrier oil like almond oil or fractionated coconut oil. You can then apply the diluted oil to the area with a cotton ball.

You don’t have to go through expensive, and sometimes painful ways to try to get rid of these gross things that we deal with every day. Try your oils first, but make sure you’re only using pure oils that are therapeutic grade.
