I couldn’t settle on just one major while I was in college. I graduated with 3 majors and a minor from Penn State in 4 years. Actually, my career has taken my down many roads. From advertising and public relations to information specialist and operations director.
After my MBA, I went on to get my Masters in Library Science (yes that means I’m a super nerd). I found a job that I loved at an Investment Bank, but I traded my life. Every weekend I missed out on family events, birthdays, happy hours, time with friends, and time to spend building my relationship.
Fast forward a few years to my promotion. Now I was an operations director. Super exciting news until the responsibilities set in. It meant being on call at all hours, waking up at 3 am to monitor the system upgrades, and daily conversations about cost-cutting.
I was on my way from an optimistic lover of possibilities to a critic. I loved my co-workers, but I wasn’t loving my job anymore.
I hated it.
And myself for letting this negativity happen.
So I changed it, and you can too.
Somewhere along the way we get lost in the day-to-day, forget our day dreams, and spend 30 – 40 years doing something we aren’t passionate about just to keep up with the bills, college loan payments, and life’s next big unexpected adventure.
But, do we ever really lose that dream of becoming free?
Free from a 9-to-5, free from a desk, free from a boss, free from a mortgage payment, or medical bills. The freedom to spend our days doing what we love and spending our time with people we love.
My biggest dream is being location independent.
After living in NYC for 8 years, I have had enough of the chaos, clutter, and frankly the smell of garbage on those hot summer days.
I wanted to enjoy the world around me and breathe fresh air! No more hours spent commuting, sirens in the middle of the night (yes we even lived down the block from a fire station), or dirty subway rides.
A few years ago, a friend introduced me to essential oils. I thought she was totally crazy. But I had tried enough over the counter things to give them a try. And they worked.
I never thought it would be a business or even become an obsession to share the power of essential oils with others. Fast forward 3 years, and I was able to make the decision not to return to my 9-to-5 after maternity leave.
This business gave me the flexibility to stay home and raise my daughter, and the freedom to work where I want to – whether it’s from the beach in Florida or the mountains in New Hampshire.
All while making a positive impact on the health and wealth of others around the world.
Next, goal – retire my hubby who works way too many hours, and misses too many bedtime stories.
I’m on track to achieve a top rank in the company by the end of the year, and I hope you’ll join me so I can show YOU how I did it.
Maybe you’ve felt like you’ve hit your prime, or you’re stuck in a position that you’ve worked to hard to leave. Maybe you’ve even felt like it’s not possible to be passionate about what you do.
Guess what? It’s not. You still have the choice and ability to create the life you REALLY want. It’s still out there, waiting for you to find it. The best way to start out on a new path is to find someone who’s been there, done that, to walk alongside you. And I’m willing to be that person.
I’m currently looking for highly-driven, motivated individuals to partner with on my doTERRA team. I’ll provide the training, you bring your passion and determination. My team is already filled with success stories. Will yours be next?
